Creative Spirit: Wish Disappointment
Every wish is painted with an underside or foundation of disappointment and regret. In short, “I wish this were different” is implied. That makes longing a bit natural, I think.
I imagine it as a kind of veneer with two slices stuck together – I wonder, can they be peeled apart? A good exercise. What do I really long for, regardless of societal mirrors of successes I don’t have, and regrets for what I thought I wanted long ago.
What does my spirit, my core, long for?
